The public grievance management system which was proposed by His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksha and planned by the Ministry of Public Management Reforms is due to launch in 10 public sector organizations. A workshop was held in the auditorium of Irrigation Department on 22nd October 2013. Twenty five Officers including field officers from the Department of Wildlife Conservation participated for this workshop.
30th March 2013, DIMO, JKH, Cinnamon Wild and EFL teamed up to donate a patrol vehicle and fuel supply to aid the conservation of Yala National Park (YNP). An MOU was signed by Mr. Ranjith Pandithage (Chaiman, DIMO), Mr. Jayantissa Kehelpannala (EVP John Keells Holdings & Sector Head of Sri Lankan Resorts) and Hon. Wijith Wijayamuni Soysa (Minister of Wildlife Resource Conservation) at Yala, in the presence of Eng. Udeni Wickramasinghe (Secretary, Ministry of Wildlife Resouces Conservation), Mr.H.D.Rathnayake (Director General, Department of Wildlife Conservation), and Mr. S.Saranga (Yala Park Warden) oversaw the proceedings that took place at Cinnamon Wild Yala, and will hereafter monitor the use of the vehicle and check the progress made by the team at Yala. This is the first private sector contribution of its kind where two leading companies in the country (DIMO and JKH) have made a joint investment towards the conservation of Yala- one of the Sri Lanka’s most important wilderness areas.
